How to Tell If You Need a Pet Psychic
Ever been to a psychic and to have your palm read, interpret tarot cards, or put you in contact with a deceased loved one? Pet Psychics do that and much more with cats, dogs, and other animals. We define the word "psychic" as meaning someone who can perceive information hidden from the normal senses through what is described as extrasensory perception (ESP).
Pet psychics have been the subject of a few comedy movies in the last 10-25 years, including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Dr. Doolittle. More recently, the television shows The Pet Psychic and Dog Whisperer have given more credibility to the concept of pet psychics, even though it continues to be something about which people are highly skeptical and are concerned about being scammed. Some pet psychics indicate that they can talk with deceased animals, while others hold themselves out more as animal psychologists.
Let's first look at the more psychological services that pet psychics perform. People like Caesar Milan, The Dog Whisperer, believe that they have psychic abilities to communicate with dogs in order to discover the cause of and correct behavior disorders. While there are many reasons to seek out the services of a pet psychic, the main one tends to be when there is a relationship breakdown between the dog and the dog's owner and they want to get to the root of the problem to repair and restore the relationship. Providing advice to dog owners and counseling to dogs is a growing industry.
Not unexpectedly, the scientific community rejected the possibility of all psychic phenomena, whether dealing with humans or animals.
During World War I was when we encountered the term pet psychic for the first time. At that time, the Association for Research and Enlightenment experimented with concepts concerning human paranormal and psychic abilities when they discovered that they could also communicate telepathically with animals, dead or alive. Pet psychics claim to communicate with animals by connecting with their electromagnetic energy or souls. There are a number of websites where pet psychics offer their services indicating that they can do a reading over the phone or by looking at a photograph of the deceased pet. Sometimes a séance is held. A séance is an event where people join together with a psychic or medium to listen to messages transmitted by a dearly departed dog through the psychic to the pet's owner. Psychics say that dogs show them mental pictures of what they want to say. There's a story of a séance involving a woman who had to place her dog in a kennel when she got married and while the dog was at the kennel; it escaped and was run over by a car. The dog's owner was hysterical and filled with guilt and wanted to communicate with her deceased Shetland Sheepdog. The pet psychic held a séance to communicate with the dearly departed retriever and told the pet's owner that the pet was upset and felt abandoned when it was put in a kennel. The psychic explained to the dog why its owner had placed it in a kennel and related back to the owner that the dog found peace with that answer and the owner recovered from her guilt and anxiety over the incident.
Because we love our dogs and regard them as members of our families, many people feel as though they are "visited" by their pets, sort of like a dog ghost, after their beloved pet passes away. Many people tell stories of hearing their dog's distinctive bark or paws on the floor long after the pet has passed away. It's usually at that point when someone might want to reach out to a pet psychic to communicate with their furry friend in order to either tell them that they miss them or to ask if their pet is okay now where they are in death.
