The Shetland Sheepdog, or Sheltie, is a strong, yet nimble, beautiful dog with a slender build, They are an outstanding companion dog with a lovely temperament and are gentle, sensitive, loyal and dainty. They are high energy, highly intelligent and extremely trainable. The Sheltie is one of the smartest breeds, and they are extremely willing to please their master. They are very loyal and affectionate with their family, but generally are suspicious of strangers. They are wonderful with families and get along well with other pets and love children.
